Columbia University is seeking experienced Assistant Director, Electrical Systems, to join its Operations Team. Responsibilities include managing the service, maintenance, and repair of the electrical, fire, and life safety systems and components of the Morningside campus. He/she will support the Director in the planning, administration, and management of all electrical systems, fire and sprinkler/standpipe systems, vertical transportation, emergency generators, and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) routine operational projects. Assign projects and schedules for the electrical and fire systems employees and outside contractors. Review drawings and make electrical sketches to check on consulting engineers and electrical contractors.
A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent related business experience totaling 10 years, required. A minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibility in facility operations and 3 years or more of supervisory experience with the operation, maintenance, and repair in an industrial or research facility or related buildings systems experience required.
