Scope: The Director of Business Development & Industry Partnerships is a key position at IEC National. The position directs and administers the Association's programs to attract new industry partners (corporate memberships), sells sponsorships, and retains existing partners. The position is responsible for identifying, developing, marketing, selling new value-added revenue initiatives, programs, partnerships, membership opportunities for the nation’s only merit shop electrical trade association. The ideal candidate will be creative, innovative, motivated to develop, implement, sell membership, networking, sponsorship, and other revenue opportunities to key corporate partners in the rapidly growing electrical and systems contracting industry.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage the development and implementation of the overall sales and partnership development plan for IEC.
Actively prospect new partners, generate leads and maintain current records including notes on prospective and existing members via CRM and AMS.
Manage the development and implementation of sponsor research, recruitment, and retention.
Develop, market, and sell new programs and services that will enhance IEC’s partnership ROI, grow IEC’s revenue, and support overall member retention.
Ensure coordinated, sustained communications with partners and prospective partners, including working collaboratively with internal team members in the design, production, and distribution of collateral materials.
Work internally across organization and externally to communicate partnership value proposition and benefits to current partners and prospects, leveraging subject matter experts across IEC to participate in the recruitment and engagement process.
Create multi pronged approach and spearhead of formal custom packages of partner involvement, which will include multi-year partner commitments, sponsorships, affinity programs, educational connection, and chapter engagement facets.
Manage and grow IEC Affinity Services program.
In coordination with finance department, assure accurate and timely billing and accounts receivable for dues and sponsorships of national industry partners.
Liaison for Industry Partner Committee and Platinum Partner Council.
Proven sales/business development performer with a strong 7+ years track record of executive-level engagement, relationship building, and partner development.
Experience in a membership-oriented association and/or executive experience in sales and marketing, management consulting, and selling to C-suite executives a plus.
Required Education & Abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field; Masters, a plus
Knowledge of association management techniques
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Strong sales and/or development background in a nonprofit or corporate environment
Manage work as projects: setting goals, timelines, meeting goals, and budgets
Committed to merit-shop philosophy and promotion of skilled trades
